Pororoca (directed by
Constantin Popescu) was selected in the international competition of the Göteborg Film Festival which will take place from January 26 to February 5, 2018, in Sweden.

The Göteborg Film Festival is the largest film festival in the Nordic countries and this year it reached its 41st edition. The 11 days of festival will include the screening of over 450 films from around 80 countries.
Pororoca is among the 20 titles nominated in the Best International Film competition.
The film had its international release at the
San Sebastian International Film Festival, where
Bogdan Dumitrache received for
the Silver Shell Award for Best Actor. In Romania, the film was released on January 19, and it will be screened
in 20 cities. The film is distributed by Bad Unicorn.
At the end of this week, Pororoca will also be in the
Voices section of the Rotterdam International Film Festival, next to 25 other films from all over the world, made by directors who “have a distinct voice and who present the human condition from a unique point of view.”
Pororoca tells the story of Tudor (Bogdan Dumitrache) and Cristina (
Iulia Lumânare). The two of them lead a normal family life, without any other worries besides the usual ones regarding raising and educating their children: Maria (5 y.o.) and Ilie (7 y.o). One Sunday morning, Tudor goes out with his children, to the park near their block of flats. One moment of the father`s distraction and Maria`s gone. Together with other parents, Tudor desperately searches the area together with other parents. 30 minutes later, Tudor calls the police. Maria is officially gone missing.
