Between 14 and 18 September, the first Edition of PELÍCULA – LATIN AMERICA FILM & EXPERIENCE Festival will unfold, organised by FREEALIZE in Bucharest.

The main venues are: Cinema Elvira Popesco, courtyard of the French Institute, and POINT. The screenings will include 15 films closely related to Latin America (produced in one of the Latin America countries/co-produced/talking about subjects, people, areas from this part of the world), of which 8 are to be screened in absolute premiere in Romania. The full screening programme will be made available on 25 August, 2016.
Every year, this event focuses on one of the Latin America countries, and this year the spotlight will be on Chile. Consequently, with the support of the Embassy of Chile in Bucharest,

we are going to screen this year 3 feature-length films from this country:
Talion (directed by Martín Tuta),
El boton de nacar/The Pearl Button (directed by Patricio Guzmán),
La memoria del aqua/The Memory of Water (directed by Matías Bize), and for the opening of the Festival, we prepared for our audience the film
Historia de un oso/Bear Story (directed by Gabriel Osorio), the 2016 Oscar-winning short.
Other festival-integrated events will be sessions with the audience held by festival friends' guests who travelled at least through a Latin America country, or are originating from one of its countries. The Festival will also host nights of fiesta, milonga, Latin America dance demonstrations, tastings and many beautiful meetings (the full programme will be made available on 2 September, 2016).
