Tarzan`s Testicles / Ouăle lui Tarzan (directed by
Alexandru Solomon) is nominated for the European University Film Award (EUFA), presented by the students from Europe.
The other four nominated films are:
Foxtrot (directed by Samuel Maoz),
Lazzaro felice (directed by Alice Rohrwacher),
Styx (directed by Wolfgang Fischer) and
Utøya 22.Juli (directed by Erik Poppe)
The nominations were chosen out of 49 fiction films and 15 documentaries from the selection of the European Film Academy from 2018, by a commission made of Dagmar Brunow (film scholar, Sweden), Mike Goodridge (producer and festival director, England) and Christophe Leparc (festival director, France).
The nominated films will be viewed and discussed in 23 universities in 23 countries and each institution will select its favourite film. In early December, one student representative from each university will attend a three-day deliberation meeting to decide on the overall winner. The winner will then be announced on December 6, 2018 and the presentation will take place on December 14, 2018, on the eve of the 31st European Film Awards on December 15, 2018 in Seville.
