The 4th Edition of Ceau, Cinema! Festival (20-23 July) will take place in Timişoara, a candidate city for the title of European Capital of Culture 2021, and in Gottlob, the first Romanian rural locality with a refurbished theatre house.

„Capitol” Summer Garden was overcrowded Thursday night at the opening of the Ceau, Cinema! Festival's 4th Edition in Timișoara. Almost 700 viewers, an audience record for Ceau, Cinema!, were present at the opening gala hosted by actors Christine Cizmaș and Laurențiu Bănescu (
6,9 pe Scara Richter/ 6.9 on Richter Scale), and at the screening of the documentary
Planeta Petrila/ Petrila Planet, in premiere at Timișoara. Director
Andrei Dăscălescu and the protagonists of his documentary, artist Ion Barbu and miner Cătălin Cenușă, talked for over an hour with the audience after the screening. Also on Thursday, at Cinema Timiș, the scree
nings of the first two competition films were held:
Mister Universo, by Tizza Covi and Rainer Frimmel, and
Gloria, by Kristina Grozeva and Petar Valchanov.
The competition section is to be carried on on Friday with other two titles –
Vânătoare/ The Hunt, by Alexandra Bălteanu, and
You Have No Idea How Much I Love You, by Pawel Lozinski. On Saturday, the last two films competing for the Ceau, Cinema! Troply and for the Audience Award will be screened –
The Last Things, by Irene Dionisio, and
People That Are Not Me, by Hadas Ben Aroya.
The Documentary
Ouăle lui Tarzan / Tarzan's Testicles, by
Alexandru Solomon, will have a special screening on Friday, at 20, at Cinema Timiș, attended by the director and producer
Ada Solomon. The day will end at ”Capitol” Summer Garden with the screening of the musical fantasy with sirens
The Lure, by Polish director Agnieszka Smoczynska.
Ceau, Cinema! is a festival dedicated to European cinema, set up by the Big Screen Association and by the Cultural Film Association. It is a project developed with the support of the National Filmmaking Centre (CNC), of the Town Hall of Timişoara Municipality, of the Timişoara Local Council and of Timiş County Council.
