A series of internationally renowned animators or active in the local industry will attend the 11th Edition of Anim’est Animation International Film Festival.

For the first time, the host of the educational endeavours of Anim’est – consisting in a series of presentations, masterclasses and workshops – will be the International Centre for Creative Technologies Research and Education – CINETic, an ambitious research project in the fields of arts and cinema by U.N.A.T.C. I.L. Caragiale.

highlight of this year's guest list to the is Shelley Page, one of the oldest members of the famous animation studio DreamWorks Animation, who is to deliver a
masterclass on
Character Design & Development for Animation. Shelley will also be part this year of the jury of international short and student short competitions.
An event of interest for everyone wishing to discover the process behind the production of a
stop-motion animation feature film will be the meeting with Anthony Farquhar-Smith,
key-animator of award-winning feature films such as
Corpse Bride (directed by Tim Burton) or
Fantastic Mr. Fox (directed by Wes Anderson). Anthony will be in the jury of the international feature film and Romanian short competitions, and will deliver the not to be missed presentation
Stop Motion, Roald Dahl and Wes Anderson. How three very different things combined to make The Fantastic Mr. Fox.
Furthermore, a series of guests in the backstage of Belgium animation will be part of the Anim’est 2016 programme. The following will be present in Bucharest: Eric Goossens, founder of Walking the Dog, one of the most important animation studios in Belgium, Vincent Gilot, head of the animation department of La Cambre School, one of the most significant arts and design institutions in Belgium, Ben Stassen, director and producer of 3D animation
Robinson Crusoe and Eric Franssen, manager of Wallonie Bruxelles Images.
This year, Vincent Gilot will organise a workshop for the young animators attending the festival, together with a group of students from La Cambre School. More details are to be announced soon.
The little ones (aged between 8 – 12) will have the opportunity to attend demonstrative workshops of
stop-motion,
pixilation and
cut-out (paper), guided by trainers Serghei Chiviriga, Ana Dobrescu and Ion Aramă. Admission will be free of charge, and details about registration may be requested at ana@animest.ro. Moreover, during both Festival weekends, between the first and the second film screening, the little viewers will be invited to creative workshops focusing on the viewed films' themes and characters. The workshops will be hosted by Clubul Meu - Ateliere Recreative Tei, by Ion Creangă Theatre and by Marta Curteanu, actress / children
entertainer, the participation being free of charge and not requiring registration.
