Musician Bill Drummond (KLF), guest of DokStation’s first Edition

Friday, 23 September, starts the first edition of DokStation Music Documentary Film Festival to be unfolding over three days (23-25 September), in several Bucharest neighbourhoods from Sectors 1, 2, 4 and 6.
In the opening of Dokstation, on Friday, 23 September, from 20.30, at „Mihai Eminescu” Cultural Centre – Parcul Național, the film Nick Cave &The Bad Seeds: One More Time With Feeling (2016, directed by Andrew Dominik) will be screened in premiere in Romania.
The film's 2D screening will be preceded, starting at 19.00, by a concert delivered by The Mono Jacks band, one of the most appreciated alternative rock bands locally, and by several trails from the new documentary (work in progress), The Mono Jacks.
Admission to „Mihai Eminescu” Amphitheatre will be made starting at 18.30.
The DokStation's first edition special guests are Scottish musician and artist Bill Drummond, co-founder of The KLF avant-garde pop band, and Stefan Schwietert, director of documentary Imagine Waking Up Tomorrow and All Music Has Disappeared (2015).
Following the screening, Bill Drummond and Stefan Schwietert will be present for a talk with the viewers.
Drummond is the man with whom The KLF once conquered the pop world. An anarchist spirit, an eternal punk who know conducts the biggest choir in the world – The17, a group of amateurs without scores or rehearsals. Stefan Schwietert (Echoes of Home) accompanies Drummond in his search for new voices: outdoor or in a factory, in a classroom or in a pub. The former solo player of The KLF is making a musical experiment trying to imagine a world where music is gone. It is a journey to point zero of music.
Also in the second day of festival, on Saturday, on Saturday, 24 September, the documentary Pulp: A Film About Life, Death and Supermarkets (2014, directed by Florian Habicht) will be screened in Drumul Taberei Park. Known and appreciated for pieces such as Common People and Disco 2000, the band returns after 25 years in Sheffield, for its last concert in Great Britain.
The documentary will be preceded by a concert performed by musician Mihail. His debut single Nocturnal Dance reminds of some of Mihail's favourite artists: John Mayer, Junip, Glen Hansard, Jack Johnson, Jose Gonzalez or Aloe Blacc.
The programme of concerts will be completed by the bands The Nuggers and ORKID and DJ set with A. Rusu and Rock DJ.
