On Monday, November 25, 2019,
The Diary of the –Escu Family / Jurnalul familiei –escu (directed by
Șerban Georgescu) was screened at the Docuart Cinematheque, at the Docuart Space.
The film is the story of millions of Romanian people who, by force of circumstance, ended up living within these borders and being forced to stand one another - exactly the way things are in a big family. One travel through time and space, in which the family is the link between all the moments that kept us together, but also divided us all this time.
By defining a few “elements”, such as language, nationality, religion, food, sports, politics, war, agriculture, construction sites, traditions, music or fashion, the film shapes a portrait of the way the above-mentioned things influenced and shaped our family.
At the end of the screening, Şerban Georgescu spoke to the viewers.
