Mediaș Central European Film Festival “7+1” (1-3 September) is to kick off on 1 September, from 19.30, in the Town Hall Square, with the performance by Sorin Tănase, “Viața ca un banc”/ “Life as a Joke”, followed by the Opening Gala.

The Festival has a
competition section, a program dedicated to
a national cinematography, as well as themed exhibitions and conferences.
Apart from the Traube Hall, which will be the venue assigned to screenings from the competition sections and of the films from the guest country – Russia, a series of
special screenings will be held at the Mediaş Synagogue (classical restored films in Yiddish), and also open-air screenings in „Corneliu Coposu” Square (the Town Hall Square).
Traube Hall will also host the colloquium Celebration
of Russian Cinema, and the public will have the opportunity to visit the exhibitions:

The visit of Tsar Nicholas II to Romania (at Traube Hall), as well as the exhibition set up with the support of the Austrian Cultural Centre:
Figl from Austria (at the Urbanism Centre A.D.I. Regiunea Târnavelor).
This year, the Jury of MeCEFF “7+1” will be made up of: James Ulmer,
Ileana Popovici, Irina-Margareta Nistor,
Călin Stănculescu and
Mihai Fulger.
Admission will be free of charge to all Festival's screenings and events.
