“Ionaș Dreams of Rain”, selected to Visions du Réel 2017

The documentary produced within the Aristoteles Workshop 2016Ionaș visează că plouă / Ionaș Dreams of Rain, was included in the competition section Premiers Pas of Vision du Réel International Festival (21-29 April 2017).
Premiers Pas section is devoted to school films, screened in world or European premiere at this Festival.
Ionaș Dreams of Rain (directed by Dragoș Hanciu, cinematography by Ileana Gabriela Szasz, editing by Maria Bălănean) is the second documentary of the four produced last year at Aristoteles Workshop, to take part to a prestigious international festival, after Vasile (directed by Sakari Suuronen, editing Ruxandra Pintile), selected in the competition at Tampere Festival.
“It is the first time one of my films is selected by a festival of this calibre and the first time I am going to interact with an international audience. The world premiere at Visions du Réel is already a gain and, at the same time, a merit of the film,” Dragoș Hanciu stated.
Dragoș graduated Film Directing in 2015, with „I.L. Caragiale” National Theatre and Cinema University. In 2014, he made his first short documentary under the title Brudina, a film presented and award-winner at several festivals in Romania and Europe, and nominated at the category Best Documentary Short at the Gopo Awards.
The call for entries for the 2017 Edition of Aristoteles Workshop din 2017 is now open on aworkshop.org.
