The guests of the Romanian Film Centennial Caravan in Roman, Moinești, Onești

On May 25, 26 and 27, the towns of Roman, Moinești și Onești welcomed a few Romanian films and the photo exhibition “Romania: Evolution”, made by the AGERPRESS National News Agency, dedicated to the Centenary of the Great
Union. In each of the three days, before the feature films started, the documentary “The Great Union – Romania at 100 years” produced by AGERPRESS was screened.
On May 25, the screening of The Autobiography of Nicolae Ceaușescu/ Autobiografia lui Nicolae Ceaușescu (directed by Andrei Ujică) took place in the Festivity Hall of the Mayor House of the Roman town. the screening was followed by a discussion with the politologist Daniel Sandru. “The Centenary is a time for reflection. It`s not a story about the past, it should be a story about the future.”, he said.
On May 26, the Caravan reached Moinești, where many teachers, students, mayors of the communes and towns nearby and important local people came to the Lira Cinema.
The guest of the film 6.9 on the Richter Scale / 6,9 pe scara Richter (directed by Nae Caranfil) which was screened
in Moinești was the actor Teodor Corban, who said about the director of the film: “Nae Caranfil makes a film once in a long time, but with a long term effect. he is a Lord on the set. It is a joy to work with him”. At the q&a, Teodor Corban said that behind an actor there`s a lot of work. “In 99% of the cases, nobody touches the script. It took 12 years to have this film made, to obtain the money, etc.”, Teodor Corban added, saying that a director is very keen on keeping his own script.
On Sunday, May 27, the film  I`m an Old Communist Hag / Sunt o babă comunistă was screened in the presence of the director Stere Gulea. He told the audience how Dan Lungu`s book got to be what his screenplay was based upon: “I found the title quite appealing. Reading the book I realized that a film could be made about a world about which people kept talking during the communist period, about the working class. I thought the characters in the Romanian films didn`t have much in common with the people. They were not alive. They were fake.”
The events were organized with the support of the Mayor House of Roman, the Neamț USR deputy, Iulian Bulai, the Moinești Mayor House and of the Local Council, the Onești Mayor House (Mayor eng. Nicolae Gnatiuc) and of the “Radu Rosetti” Library.
