Dracula Film Festival Announces the Films in Competition


     The 6th edition of the a Dracula Film Festival will take place from October 17 to 21, 2018, in Brașov. 2,251 films from 60 countries were submitted for the international and Romanian short film competitions. Out of them, 15 were selected for the international competition, to get the LITTLE DRACULA 2018 award and 5 Romanian short films for the local one, competing for the VLADUTZ award.
     The films selected for the international short film competition are: At dawn (France, directed by Julien Trauman), Limbo (Spain, directed by Daniel Viqueira), Billion (Moldova, directed by Evghenii Dudceac), The Strange House in the Mist (Portugal, directed by Guilherme Daniel), Bicho!(Spain, directed by Christopher Cartagena), Implied (China, directed by Qi Yao), Insanium (Portugal, directed by Rui Pedro Sousa), Laboratory Conditions (USA, directed by Jocelyn Stamat), The Dwarfs (Poland, directed by Piotr Sulkowski), Besoin Dead (France, directed by Aurélien Digard), The Silence and Afterwards (Portugal, directed by Guilherme Daniel), An Beanshi(Ireland, directed by Paddy Murphy), Delivre-nous du mal (France, directed by Matt Kassimo), Apostles (Brazil, directed by Marcos DeBrito), The Woodsmen (Canada, directed by Victor&Jodi Cooper).
     In the Romanian short film competition, 5 films were selected: In 23,59 (directed by Ana Breten), the life of two teenage brothers gets supernaturally complicated after they try to conjure a ghost. Happy Motel, directed by Constantin Bâzgă, follows three characters whose destinies intertwine in a motel, the night after a robbery. In Something / Ceva (directed by Paul Mureșan), the fears that we try to avoid during our life, await for us on the other side. A wood cutter from a village up the mountains, isolated by the snow falls, tries to right his mistakes, but sometimes, the spilled blood can be wiped away only by his own blood in the short film White / Alb, directed by Paul Cioran. One night, an old man orders 12 funeral wreaths from an undertaker. Could he be a murderer? The owners of the undertaking business decide to start investigating the situation in The Best Client / Cel mai bun client (directed by Serghei Chiviriga).
     All these films are scheduled to run at the Patria Cinematheque, on October 18 and 19, 2018. The access is free.
     The selection of the films in the short film category was made by the film critic Cristian Mărculescu,
     The films will be voted by the audience.
