The
Romanian Film Caravan – the Book and the film arrives in Râmnicu Vâlcea (May 21-25, 2018). The city Hall together with CineCultura Association invites the viewers to a series of screenings of Romanian films, in open air, in “Mircea cel Bătrân”Square, starting with 21:00.
Since this year we celebrate the Great Union Centenary, the program starts with films which have as themes events that happened during the Second World War:
The Last Night of Love / Ultima noapte de dragoste, directed by
Sergiu Nicolaescu, features
Vladimir Găitan, Ioana Pacula and Sergiu Nicolaescu. On Tuesday, May 22, the viewers will have the opportunity to watch
Through the Ashes of the Empire / Prin cenuşa imperiului,
directed by
Andrei Blaier, starring
Gheorghe Dinică and
Gabriel Oseciuc. For the part of the Diplomat that he played in this film, Gheorghe Dinică received the best Actor Award at the 1976 edition of the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival.
On Wednesday, May 23, the film
The Concert / Concertul, directed by
Radu Mihăileanu is scheduled. He received many awards and nominations for it, at mportant international film festivals, such as the
European Film Academy Award or the
César Awards for Best Music written for a film and for Best Sound.
On Thursday, May 24, the viewers are invited to see
Marcel Iureş and
Victor Rebengiuc in
Octav, a film for which the director Serge Ioan Celibidache received the Audience Award at the 2018 Gopo Gala Awards (in 2017 the film was on the top of the list with the number of viewers).
The programme closes with the screening of
Red Apples / Mere roşii, directed by
Alexandru Tatos. The film starring
Mircea Diaconu playing the part of a surgeon is based on a short story written by Ion Băieşu, “38 cu doi” and it was shot in the hospital of Râmnicu Vâlcea.
The access to all the screenings is free.
In case of bad weather, the screenings will take place in the Vâlcea County Council Hall, following the same time schedule.
