From December 10 to 12, 2018, the Bucharest Art Film Festival (BAFF) will screen art films about art at the Halucinarium Gallery in Calea Giulești 14.

For this third edition, the Art Film Festival tries to create the ideal experience destined to the cinema goers, by bringing them to an art gallery. The program of each day begins at 19:00.
The festival begins on Monday, December 10, with the story of one of the most prolific art forgers in US history, Mark Landis.
Art and Craft (directed by Sam Cullman and Jennifer Grausman) presents a charismatic and complex character, who has succeeded for more than 30 years to fool the curators with his forgeries that imitated masterpieces from the 15th century until the ones signed by Picasso.
On Tuesday, December 11,
Rijksmuseum from Amsterdam is presented; it is one of the best-known art museums in the world, which shelters among other many masterpieces, the most important works signed by Rembrandt and Vermeer. For more than 10 years, the museum has been in the process of renovation. Behind it, there were many disputes between the director of the museums, curators, politicians, architects and designers, which were caught on film and which generated a surprising ending. The film is directed by Oeke Hoogendijk.
The festival ends on Wednesday, December 12, with the film
The Forest / Pădurea, a Serbian-Romanian co-production which describes the rise and fall of the Socialism in Romania and Yugoslavia, from the perspective of the art critic Radu Bogdan and of his obsession for the painting
Crângul desfrunzit. The background story is part of a story very seldom rendered. The film was awarded at different festivals: Visions du Reel, the Sarajevo International Film Festival and UCIN, for Best TV film. The director
Siniša Dragin speaks about the idea behind the film: “It came to me after reading a newspaper article signed by Radu Bogdan in 2005 – Tito`s Forest. I thought it was a good start for a cinematic introspection about history, about its influence on the present, about the part the hazard plays, about its importance in one important “principle” of nature: the butterfly effect.”
The access to the event is free, upon seats availability.
BAFF is organized by the Docuart Association, with the support of the Halucinarium Gallery.
