In the Fade/Aus dem Nichts, the latest film of the acclaimed director Fatih Akin is a powerful drama inspired by the xenophobe crimes of a neo-Nazi group, awarded in Cannes and at the Golden Globes, will open the seventh edition of the Cinepolitica International Film Festival. The event will take place from April 18 to 22, at the Elvire Popesco Cinema and at the Balassi Institute in Bucharest.

Based on the xenophobe crimes committed in 2011 by the neo-Nazi National Socialist Underground, the film of the German director who is of Turkish origin, Fatih Akin, makes us the witnesses of Katja`s drama. Katja (Diane Kruger) is a woman who wants justice in the case of the murder of her son and of her Kurdish husband, an ex-drug dealer, in a bomb attack. Diane Kruger received the 2017 Best Actress Award in Cannes; the film also received a Golden Globe for Best Foreign Film. The film will be distributed in Romania by Independența Film, starting with April 20.
