The Cinepolitica International Film Festival is the only festival in Central and Eastern Europe dedicated to the political film, returns to Bucharest and it will take place from April 18 until 22, 2018. Dedicated to the films with mainly political themes – feature films, fiction films or documentaries – united under the slogan “
not so politically correct”, the Cinepolitica festival will have screenings at the Elvire popesco Cinema and the Balassi Institute in Bucharest.

After one year full of major events – from the nuclear weapons tests in North Korea, or the fake-news phenomenon, to the Weinstein scandal or the United States withdrawal from the Paris Agreement – Cinepolitica brings the 7th edition, where the viewers can watch the latest and most powerful political films or will be able to attend debates on the hot topics of the present moment. “I believe a common theme in this year`s schedule is “the skeleton in the closet”, hiding, revealing and admission of guilt in some chronic <diseases> of the human civilization. We`ll present films that are no longer exposed <in the street>, but hidden deeply, along the time, in the individual memory”, Marius Copel, the festival programmer said.
Organized by the Culture and Image Association, the Cinepolitica International Film festival is under the patronage of the “I.L.Caragiale” University of Theatre and Film (UNATC) and of the National University of Arts (UNarte) in Bucharest.
The event is financed by the Romanian Film Centre (CNC).
