Premiul pentru publicistică 2015 al Asociaţiei Criticilor de film

Aristoteles Workshop 2017 started

The documentary film workshop, at its 12th Edition this year, started on Monday, 3 July, in Bata Commune, Arad County.
The 12 participants to Aristoteles Workshop met French expert Thierry Garrel, former director of the documentary film departed of ARTE France, having over 40 years of experience in the field. „We are at the beginning of a new era of the documentary film, and you have the perfect age to fully live this moment,” Thierry Garrel said to the young filmmakers. Furthermore, he emphasised that this edition was to be a special one, given that the participants are coming from very different cultures. This will prove that, in spite of possible communication barriers, there is a common language in cinematography, and diversity is to add value to creativity.
Until 5 August, the 12 participants from Croatia, France, Iran, Israel, Great Britain, Holland, Romania, Serbia, Turkey, Hungary and Vietnam will go through all the stages of the making of a documentary film. During the first week, they will go through the theoretical part, delivered by Thierry Garrel and will explore the area in search of subjects. Four practical work weeks will follow, during which the four teams made up of a director, a cameraman and an editor will go through all the stages of the process – from finding the subject, to filming and editing – under the guidance of the tutors Nino Kirtadze (Georgia/ France) and John Appel (Holland).
“Make all the mistakes you have never allowed yourself to make until now. This will lead you to another level,” producer Dan Nuțu advised all 12 participants.
At the end, the projects made within the workshop will be presented to a jury made of international professionals, at Cinema Arta of Arad, and the best documentary will be rewarded with a prize amounting to €1,500.
