Top100 Best Films of the 21st Century by BBC Culture.
Ada Solomon becomes the first producer in the history of the Romanian Cinema to be nominated for this prestigious trophy offered by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts
and Sciences.
“
This recognition of Toni Erdmann is overwhelming. The nominations come and go but the film stays. And the fact that following these international acknowledgements the film is seen by even more spectators is the best reward ever for those who worked on it,” says producer Solomon. “For me it is extraordinary that over 700.000 spectators in Germany, over 500.000 in France, got acquainted with important Romanian actors and a key character in this film: the town of Bucharest, a strong image, seen from a different point of view as against the image we got used to. I’m proud to have been part of this experience and do hope to get involved again in other powerful projects as this one was” adds the Romanian producer.
