Monica Lăzurean-Gorgan is making a documentary on illegal deforestation
Monica Lăzurean-Gorgan has been working ever since 2011 on a documentary on illegal forest cutting, this being a Romania-Germany-Austria co-production.
The leading character is Alexander von Bismarck, manager of EIA SUA, an organisation dedicated to environmental protection actions. Between 2011-2013, the director did the research for the film, and in 2013 she started shooting. The first cut will be completed this year.
Recently, Monica Lăzurean-Gorgan released Doar o răsuflare/A Mere Breath, which will be presented within the documentary competition of the Sarajevo Festival. An interview with the director about this feature may be viewed here.
