Summer end with the TIFF films in Sibiu, from August 27 to 30


     By the end of summer, TIFF moves to Sibiu, between August 27 to 30, for four nights of open-air film screenings. 20 films and special guests expect the Sibiu film lovers in the Big Square, Habermann Markt,  the Astra open-air museum and in 
other two new venues, the Promenada Sibiu above-ground parking lot (top floor), and the Flower Terrace of the “Ion Besoiu” Cultural Centre.
     The event will start on August 27, from 21:00 in the Big Square, with the screening of La Belle Époque (directed by Nicolas Bedos).  The comedy starring Daniel Auteuil, Guillaume Canet and Fanny Ardant is a time travel full of the adventures of a man trying to rediscover the woman he had fallen in love with 40 years ago. Andrei Zincă, the Audience Award of the Romanian Film Days section at TIFF 2020), Dolor y Gloria, Pedro Almodovar`s latest film, or the comedy signed by the director of The Full Monty, Peter Cattaneo, Military Wives.
     The films that are scheduled at the Astra open-air National Museum are other highly-appreciated and multi-awarded films: Patrick (directed by Tim Mielants), awarded at TIFF 2020 for Best Director, Les traducteurs (directed by Régis Roinsard), a thriller with hackers and translators), Madre, Rodrigo Sorogoyen`s latest film, the intense
drama of a mother who loses her son and Corpus Christi (directed by Jan Komasa), Poland`s proposal for the Oscars, the fascinating story of a young man who got out of prison and became a priest.
     The Sibiu film lovers will also fall in love with Babyteeth: The First Love, the Australian director Shannon Murphy`s debut, which received the Transilvania Trophy and the Audience Award at TIFF 2020, “probably the funniest and the fullest of life film that has ever been made about a terminal illness. A wonder”, according to The Guardian. The film will be screened on Friday, August 29, at Habermann Markt.
     The tickets can be purchased on tiff.eventbook.ro and on the TIFF Official App (available in App Store and Google Play) starting with Monday, August 24. The tickets can also be bought from the only Tickets Selling Point in the Big Square,
starting with August 26. The access is free for the screenings in the Big Square, based on a ticket of zero value purchased in advance, which will be scanned at the entrance.
