The Opening Gala held this evening will be also attended by the famous actor Willem Dafoe, who will be awarded the Crystal Globe Trophy for his contribution to international cinema.
Within this prestigious festival, the debut feature-length film by young director Catrinel Dănăiață.
Dublu/Double will be internationally premiered, being included in the competition „East of the West”, a section dedicated to directors at their first or second film. The competition gathers together productions selected from Central and Eastern Europe, Greece, Turkey, and also from countries of the former Soviet Bloc.
The international premiere is scheduled on 5 July, at 16.00 local hour, at the Karlovy Vary Municipal Theatre. The event will be attended by actors
Maria Dinulescu and
Dorian Boguță, by director Catrinel Dănăiață, director of photography
Pătru Păunescu, producer Gabi Antal, and by members of the production crew.

Karlovy Vary International Film Festival is a Category A festival, like other similar events held in Cannes, Berlin, Venice, San Sebastian, Moscow, Montreal, Shanghai or Tokyo. Each year, Karlovy Vary Festival presents over 200 films from all over the world.
