The European Film Academy and EFA Productions announced the selection of documentaries of the European Film Academy – a list of 15 European documentaries which are recommended for a nomination for the European Film Academy Awards.
Among the 15 recommended films, there are also two Romanian productions:
The Dean Nation / Țara moartă (directed by
Radu Jude) and
Tarzan`s Testicles / Ouăle lui Tarzan (directed by
Alexandru Solomon).
Ten documentary festivals have suggested to the committee one film each - Cinéma du Réel (France), CPH:DOX (Denmark), Doclisboa (Portugal), DOK Leipzig (Germany), IDFA (Netherlands), Ji.hlava (Czech Republic), Krakow
Film Festival (Poland), Sheffield Doc/Fest (UK), Thessaloniki Documentary Film Festival (Greece) and Visions du Réel (Switzerland).
The EFA Members will vote for five documentary nominations. based on these nominations, the EFA Members will then elect the European Documentary 2018, which will be announced during the awards ceremony which will take place on December 15, in Seville.
