The 24th edition of the European Film Festival organized nby the Romanian Cultural Institute, the European Commission in Romania and the EUNIC Romania members, was postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The festival will have an
online part taking place from June 17 to 21, 2020, on the TIFF Unlimited platform, with 2 short film sections (Romanian and European) - "Cinem@Casa"; and "EUShorts".
"Cinem@Casa" – The festival continues its tradition of inviting Romanian directors to take over the symbolic role of ambassadors of the European cinema. The year, through its artistic director,
Andrei Tănăsescu, the festival invited some Romanian directors to make short films in the context of self-isolation caused by the Covid-19
pandemic. 19 directors said “yes” to this call and their films will be included in the "Cinem@Casa"; section. The intention of the call was to offer an opportunity to the
Romanian film industry in these tough times, to continue its creative process and the strong connection to the Romanian audience.
“EUShorts” – the parallel section, will include a selection of short films from different European countries offered by the Festival partners, the embassies and the foreign cultural institutes in Bucharest.
