The winners of the Astra Film Festival Online


  The Astra Film Online Festival announced its winners. Besides the award of each section, the jury decided to offer two special mentions.
     The documentary Long Live Love, directed by Sine Skibsholt (Denmark, 2020), received the First Prize in the competition section of New Voices in Documentary Cinema and the film There Will Be No More Night directed by Eléonore Weber (France, 2020), received the Special Mention of the Jury of the same section. As Long as You Still Have Arms, by Luisa Bäde (Germany, 2020) is the winner of the Central and Eastern Europe competition section and the film Pure Art, directed by Maksim Shved (Poland, Belarus, 2019) received the Special Mention.
     The online edition of the Astra Film Festival took place from October 16 to 25, 2020 and the viewers had the opportunity to watch 37 documentaries, selected from more than 3,000 submitted films. 
     The jury of the New Voices in Documentary Cinema section was made of: Federico D`Accinni (the International Programming Coordinator of the MUBI streaming service), Ilona Hongisto (professor at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, where she teaches and researches film) and Andrei Tănăsescu (member of the selection committee of Venice Days/ Giornate degli Autori and programmer for Kino Pavasaris International Film Festival in Vilnius).
     The Jury of the Central and Eastern Europe competition section was made of: Samay Claro (Head of the Communication Department of the DOK,fest München Festival), Ksenia Okhapkina (member of the Russian Documentary Guild and European Visual Authors Union) and Julia Varga (she curates and runs a successful monthly documentary film screening cinematheque Les Écrans du Passage in Pantin, in the suburbs of Paris.
