On Saturday, August 15, the audience of the ANONIMUL International Independent Film Festival decided through electronic vote, the winners of the 17 th edition: the Audience Award for the Best Romanian Short Film, (worth of 1,000 Euros)
![]() The 17th edition of the ANONIMUL International Independent Film Festival, which took place from August 12 to 16, in Sfântu Gheorghe, Danube Delta, gathered 9 titles in the Romanian short film competition and 10 titles in the international short film competition, which came from Iran, USA, Denmark, Vietnam, Poland, Russia, Singapore, Spain and Lithuania. The selection of both competitions was made by the film critic Ionuț Mareș.
The program festival was completed with the latest Romanian fiction and documentary feature films, among which Acasă / Acasă, My Home (directed by Radu Ciorniciuc), colectiv/ collective (Alexander Nanau), 5 minute / 5 minutes (Dan Chișu), Ivana cea Groaznică / Ivana the Terrible (Ivana Mladenović) and Malmkrog (Cristi Puiu).
The ANONIMUL IIFF viewers could watch in national premiere, in the opening of the festival, The Father, the feature debut of the dramatist Florian Zeller, starring Anthony Hopkins and Olivia Colman, which only had the international premiere at Sundance and which will be released in the cinemas all over the world when they will be opened again.
This year`s edition of the festival took place under special conditions, imposed by the pandemic, with a smaller number of viewers for each screening and physical distancing measures. Some of the special guests of the event were the director Dan Chișu, the actress Diana Cavallioti, producer Anamaria Antoci, the investigation journalist Mirela Neag alongside the directors of the Romanian short films: Alina Șerban, Ana Pasti, Andrei Răuțu, Claudiu Mitcu, Lucia Chicoș, Sarra Tsorakidis, and the actor Cristian Tobe. The presenter of the 17th edition of the ANONIMUL IIFF was the actor and musician Alex Ștefănescu.
