This year, the programme of the recently closed International Book Fair in London focused on Mircea Eliade, whose death is to reach its 30th anniversary in April.

On this occasion, the “Romanian Cinematheque” (a permanent program developed by ICR London, with the support of the National Filmmaking Centre) scheduled for Tuesday, 26 April, the screening of
Bengalese Night (
La Nuit Bengali, 1988, directed by Nicholas Klotz), a cinema adaptation of the famous novel “Maitreyi”. The film, o co-production France/ Switzerland/UK features in the leading role actor Hugh Grant, at the debut of his career. The cast also includes: John Hurt, Soumitra Chatterjee, Shabana Azmi and Supriya Pathak.
