In 2016, Kinofest International Film Festival holds its tenth Edition between 30 September and 2 October, within which around 250 shorts are to be screened at Cinema Elvira Popescu, Energiea Pub, Seneca Anticafe, Lente and Make a Point.
The three competitions of the Festival will present 56 films. The Online section will take place on www.kinofest.com, between 15 September and 2 October, the 15 short-listed shorts being made available for viewing and voting on the internet. The most appreciated film with win the Kinofest 2016 Best Online Film Award.
The sections Animation and Fiction, to be screened at Energiea Pub, include 41 films to be assessed by film industry professionals jurors.
At Cinema Elvira Popescu, on 1 and 2 October, Kinofest is to screen two animation programmes for children and teenagers, from 14. At the same venue, the audience will have the opportunity to see at night films made by the most significant animation schools (GOBELINS, ArtFx, École Estienne, ISART DIGITAL etc.),
spooky and
thriller shorts, as well as the best films in the festival – award-winning shorts at previous editions.
At Lente, the films within the programmes World Panorama Animaţie, Best of Kinofest and from guest festivals OPLA – Polish Animation Festival and Visegrad Animation Forum will be screened.
Seneca Anticafe will host films with ecological theme, under the name Blue Planet, and Make a Point will screen a programme of Japonese shorts from the Short Shorts Asia Japan Festival.
Kinofest International Film Festival carries out its tenth edition under the slogan “IMAGINE THE UNIMAGINABLE!” The concept and graphics of Kinofest 2016 visual campaign is made by Radu Ţinc and Meka Studio.
