10 actors working with Romanian theatres will be presented to the audience, the press and to film industry professionals at the Transilvania International Film Festival (27 May – 5 June), within the fifth edition of the programme 10 for FILM.
Between 2 and 4 June, within the
Romanian Film Days, the actors will attend workshops, film premieres and debates, and they will be introduced to directors and to Romanian and foreign producers, to casting directors and to agents.
40 actors of various ages, from all over the country, who have affirmed themselves on stage, but have had no major roles on the big screen, have been promoted in the four previous editions of the program
10 for FILM. After each Edition, the actors were remarked by directors and producers, and some of them were cast in movies. Among them, mention should be made of:
Maria Obretin, Fülöp Erzsébet, Elena Ivanca, Alina Ilea, Lucian Teodor Rus, Alex Ion. As it happened every year, the actors will benefit from dedicated brochures, as well as photos and clips made by a professional studio.
The ten actors are as follows: Alina Petrică (Godot Café-Teatru, În Culise, Teatrelli - Bucharest), Andi Gherghe (Ariel Theatre in Târgu Mureș), Cătălina Bălălău (Tineretului Theatre in Piatra-Neamț), Cezar Grumăzescu (Excelsior Theatre in Bucharest, the State Jewish Theatre, the Comedy Theatre), Ciprian Scurtea („Radu Stanca” National Theatre in Sibiu), Cristian Rigman (National Theatre in Cluj Napoca), Ioana-Florentina Manciu („Marin Sorescu” National Theatre in Craiova), Nicholas Cațianis (Excelsior Theatre in Bucharest, „I.L.Caragiale” National Theatre), Richard Balint (State Theatre in Oradea), Sânziana Tarță (National Theatre in Cluj-Napoca).
The actors were proposed and selected by a group of stage and film professionals:
Tudor Giurgiu (director and producer), stage reviewers Iulia Popovici, Cristina Rusiecki, Oana Stoica and Cristiana Gavrilă, Domnica Cârciumaru (casting director), Răzvan Penescu (editor with the LiterNet portal) and Ileana Cecanu (publicist, project coordinator).
