The beach way from Sfîntu Gheorghe to Portiţa passes through areas of thicket, shells, forest, grinds, being interrupted from time to time by canals pouring into the sea. One may meet wild boars, a colony of 50 cows and horses challenging us to ask questions about the man's role in society, or a turtle passed out because of the heat, small crabs, fish, comorans, botflies and the all-famous mosquitos. This is the area of partially abandoned fishing rooms on the coast line, former fisheries, places of fish delight, turned now into storehouses where an alcoholic guard may live taking care of a few boats, nets and anchors. It is the zone owned by poachers, friends with the Frontier Police, the area of fishing for survival purposes.
