Mona Nicoară

Graduate of the “Sf.Sava” College in Bucharest in 1990, of the Bucharest University (1994), of the Columbia University (1995-2002). After 1989 she starts acting as an activist for human rights with organizations such as Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch. She lives in New York and works at Sat Mic Film since 2005. She acts in the industry since 1997 as an associate producer to the film Children Underground, awarded the Special Prize of the Jury in Sundance, 2001, and nominated at the Oscars (Best Documentary) . Is a member of One World Romania Festival team / as a selection advisor, starting 2014 /  and of the fARAD team ( a documentary film festival ) still starting 2014. Since 2017 she is a film academic with NYU Tisch and Rutgers University. Since 2012 she is part of  the festival Making Waves : New Romanian Cinema/New York.
