Class mate with emblematic figures of the Romanian screen and stage such as Irina Petrescu, Ștefan Iordache, Valentin Uritescu, Grigore Gonta, Serban Cantacuzino etc. He is assigned to the State Theatre in Brasov and becomes ( on a contest basis) a member of the team of the prestigious Theatre “ L.S. Bulandra” in Bucharest,  in 1963. He is one of the “usuals” actors of film director  Malvina Urşianu.
“Concentration, concision, consistency=Cornel Coman. His presence is composed , quiet even throughout a monologue, as words come within the  inner of this golden triplet. A character from nowadays as well as that of 400 years ago, Cornel Coman fully respects his own character, unmistakable, irreplaceable” (Eva Sîrbu,Cinema Magazine, 1980)
