Three Special Awards at the 2018 Radio România Cultural Awards Gala


     The actress Tamara Buciuceanu-Botez, the Babeș-Bolyai University and the George Enescu Philharmonic Orchestra will receive three special awards at the Radio România Cultural Awards Gala. The event will take place on Monday, March 19, 2018, at the Odeon Theatre in Bucharest, starting with 19:00.
     The RADIO ROMÂNIA 90 award will be given to the actress Tamara Buciuceanu-Botez, a prominent representative of the Radio National Theatre, a heritage voice of the Radio România cultural thesaurus; her talent goes way beyond the boundaries of the comedy genre that recommended her. Tamara Buciuceanu-Botez, who is one year younger than Radio Romania, defined excellency in theatre, radio, television and cinema, through parts that remained in the collective memory of our nation.
     The CENTENAR Award will be offered to the Babeș-Bolyai University in Cluj, the most prestigious institution for academic education in Transylvania, for the exemplary way in which it carries out its educational and research mission in a multicultural and multilinguistic horizon, continuing the tradition of an elite Transylvanian School, “a model of Romanian university”, as Sextil Pușcariu, the rector of the university wanted ever since 1919.
     The EXCELENȚA ÎN CULTURĂ Award will be received by the George Enescu Philharmonic Orchestra, a symbol of the Romanian culture. Founded more than 150 years ago, its purpose was the creating of a permanent symphonic orchestra in order to promote the musical culture and to popularize the masterpieces of the classical music. For 150 years, the George Enescu Philharmonic Orchestra is the most important scene and the peak of the musical art in Romania.
