Transilvania International Film Festival (2 – 11 June 2017) was included by Eurimages, the European Cinema Support Fund, Council of Europe, for co-productions, to the list of the ten selected festivals within which the Eurimages Co-production Development Award is to be granted, amounting to EUR 20,000.

This Award will be granted within Transilvania Pitch Stop (TPS), a programme dedicated to directors at their first or second full-length feature film, and initiated by TIFF.
Transilvania Pitch Stop is thus expanded internationally and is to comprise two components: an international platform for co-productions, on 9 and 10 June 2017, with the purpose of discovering and supporting the most promising film projects signed by filmmakers at their first or second full-length feature film and coming from Romania, the Republic of Moldova, Hungary, Bulgaria, Serbia, Ukraine, Russia, Greece, Turkey and Georgia, as well as a development
workshop designed exclusively for Romanian and Bessarabian directors. Within this
workshop to take place on 5-8 June, 5 projects are to be selected for being granted consultancy for screenwriting, training and pitch delivery to potential partners. Of the 5 projects, the organisers will also decide on those who are to compete, alongside the foreign ones, to the TPS Awards.
The deadline for submissions to Transilvania Pitch Stop 2017 is 27 April.
In 2017, the TIFF film industry programme will be a substantial one and it will include also Transilvania Talent Lab (TTL), a workshop designed for professionals involved in movie theatres' management, The Pitch (in cooperation with Shorts TV), for Transylvania-based filmmakers, as well as other events dedicated to the industry professionals and held as part of TIFF Industry. Furthermore, TIFF will host the partner projects
LIM – Less Is More and First Films First, dedicated to South-Eastern Europe-based young directors.
