Today, May 31, 2018, the launch of the DVD of the Romanian-Lithuanian production
Eastern Affair / Afacerea Est, directed by
Igor Cobileanski will take place at the TIFF Lounge, Cluj Napoca, from 16:00, during the 17th edition of the
Transilvania International Film Festival. The producer
Iuliana Tarnovețchi from Alien Film will attend the event.
Eastern Affair is a tragic-comedy about good and bad luck, with funny dialogues and an intense Moldavian flavor. The film was shot entirely in Romania; it was released in 2016 and it had a rich festivals journey Austria (LET’S CEE Film Festival), Macedonia (Philosophical Film Festival), Poland (Different Sounds Art’n’Music Festival), Croatia (European Film Festival Palic), Argentina (Festival Internacional de Cine de Comedia - FUNCINEMA) and Germany (Wiesbaden goEast).
The film received two awards at the Tallinn Black Nights International Film Festival: Igor Cobileanski, the director and scriptwriter received the award for the Best Screenplay and the actors Ion Sapdaru and Constantin Puşcaşu shared the award for the Best Actor.
The DVD can be purchased from the Cărturești Bookstore network. Other similar events will follow, in other cities, in the presence of the film crew.
