Is the art of the cinema connected to…
…the theatre? Of course. And still, there is a huge difference between theatre acting and film acting. It`s another speaking technique, another facial expressions and movement technique.
…the prose? It might seem that it`s the closest one, because most of the films are episodes of life, narrated in the natural progression,

binding the story with the psychology, suggesting a conflict and a denouement; and everything is done with clear details, of settings and clothing, of time and space. And still, the film, this visual work with a duration of approximately 90 minutes has other narration laws, other type of organizing the substance, other technique of grading, of suggestion and concentration.
…the poetry? A great number of films already proved that to us. The symbol, the atmosphere, the compressing of the meanings, the figurative use of the idea, the gracefulness of the associations, the plastic synthesis – all these belong to the poetic props – and yet, in film, the visible poetry has specific laws.
…music? Of course. And not only because of the soundtrack which has a very important role that needs no demonstration, but also because of the general rhythm of a film, because of the alternating of rushed moments and suspense, or of pauses and culmination, of the general counterpoint of themes and motives.
…dance? Though it doesn`t seem too obvious, a certain grouping and expressiveness of the collective or individual movements have a strong connection to the art of dance, but again, following the film own laws.
...plastic art? No doubt, the film uses drawing, colour, composition and undoubtedly it contains landscapes, portraits, still natures, but the dynamic character of this kind of plastic type imposes a different aesthetics.
And so on and so forth.
The arts mixture in a film is not an inventory of the means of these arts, but an organism which is qualitatively different and upstanding.
And thus the passion for cinema adds to my previous artistic passions, requiring a special preparation from me and a certain receptivity.
More than this, the new art, as an indispensable cultural factor influences its forerunners and often its irradiance proves benefic, even if the formulas “cinema novel” or “cine-poem” are debatable as any formulas that would want to be exclusive or superior to the others.
And because I mentioned culture, I find it natural that the professionals of this field and especially the film directors must have a multilateral artistic culture (of course besides the philosophical culture, the scientific knowledge of the world) in order to be the authorized owners of the material that they had chosen.
