The Great Picnic – Short Films at the Botanical Garden reached its 5th edition: half a decade of short films on the grass, of days with laying on the blanket under the sun, then under the moon, of watching the screen. This is what the midsummer event is about: friendly, relaxed people, in the mood for watching films and talking and enjoying nature on an exotic, welcoming urban island.
This year ShortsUP brings one more evening to the Great Picnic, in the weekend July 27-29. The screenings have a common, almost existential theme, approached with humor, as you got used to at the Great Picnic: What brings us together and what separates us at the same time, beyond all the criteria that comes to your mind first? What makes us act differently compared to the people we are alike with, but exactly the same compared to the local people of some
villages that we cannot even pronounce their name?
Well. the film loving picnic from July 2018 tells us, by means of films, how we live and what we live according to the natural climate boundaries of the Globe – how the climate makes us interact with the space we live in, why we are more solar or more cautious, more lonesome or more outspoken, more moderate or more exotic.
The viewers may also enjoy the guided tours offered by the Team Work volunteers who will help you visually explore different climate areas.
Two big screens will be placed between the trees of the Italian Garden 9the most spectacular meadow in the Botanical Garden) and along the way there will be 8 food trucks.
Like every year, the Great Picnic brings together music, arts, games and interactive workshops and for your inner explorer, there will be a video-mapping that works wonders with the most interesting corners of the Garden. Come and enjoy the picnic starting with 18:00, in order to get in the mood for watching the films that will be screened from 21:00 to 23:30 every evening.
