The 2017 Edition of Romanian Film Nights Festival (10 – 14 May 2017) is celebrating the King's Day with a series of documentary films on the Royal House of Romania, produced by the Romanian Television.

Two of the documentaries focus on the personality of King Michael: the bio pic made by Camelia Csiki on the occasion of His Majesty's 90th anniversary,
King Michael I of Romania (directed by Camelia Csiki), and the feature report
Automobile – a Royal passion (directed by Bogdan Șerban-Iancu), about the King's passion for military automobiles.
Monarchy saves Romania (directed by
Sorin Ilieșiu) presents the monarchy's history and role played, with a commentary by Academician Dinu C. Giurescu, the visit of King Michael between 25 - 27 April 1992, and the significance of monarchy for Romanian people during the Communist era and after its fall, with a commentary written and read by Gabriel Liiceanu.
Image of the Father, made by Lidia Voicu and Bogdan Șerban-Iancu, is dedicated to Royal Princess Margareta of Romania describing the activities she is coordinating through the Foundation bearing her name.
