
“As every year, we propose that the competition section reflects the most attractive part of the amazing diversity of the European author cinema, through a selection of fresh, daring and challenging films. As a confirmation of the Competition's significance and success, this year we were able to increase the value of the awards,” the organisers stated.
Ceau, Cinema! Competition provides a framework for expressing themselves to filmmakers from countries with traditional minorities in Banat region (Armenia, Austria, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Croatia, Germany, Israel, Italy, Poland, Republic of Moldova, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Turkey, Ukraine, Hungary). As regards co-productions, only the features whose majority co-producer is coming from a country in the above mentioned list will be deemed eligible. The Competition's selector will be film

The films screened at the Festival may win the Grand Competition Award (EUR 1,500), the Audience Award (EUR 500) or the Vitas România Trophy for independent or debut film (EUR 1,000).
The producers or distributors must fill out the admission form available on the site ceaucinema.ro, and send a link/screener of the film together with a synopsis at
festival@ceaucinema.ro, or to mail the film in hard-copy format together with a synopsis, at the address: Asociația Pelicula Culturală, Str. Take Ionescu, nr. 10-16, Sc. A, Et. 6, Ap. 20, Timișoara, 300070, România.
The deadline for registration is 1 May 2017.
The fourth edition of the
Ceau, Cinema! Festival will take place between 20-23 July, in Timișoara an in Gottlob (the first commune in Romania with a renovated movie theatre).
