Marie, Queen of Romania / Maria, Regina României, directed by Alexis Sweet Cahill, can be watched online, on VIMEO. The film can be rented for 24 hours on any territory outside Romania, for 5$ and it is available with subtitles in English, French and Romanian.

After many screenings in the country, in the presence of the film crew and the actors, after winning the Audience Award of the festival Les Films de Cannes a Bucarest, in the section Autumn Previews,
Marie, Queen of Romania became one of the most successful historic films of the previous years. After the first screening week, the film ranked no.1 in the Cinemagia top, if we take into consideration the large number of viewers.
“In essence, this film is the story of a woman determined to become the heroine of an entire nation. The ampleness of the production was extraordinary and among the members of the team you could sense a profound feeling that we walk on new grounds, not cinematographically speaking, but most likely, from the point of view of the emotion that passes over when you are the one which tells a part from the past of Romania. And not any part, but one which was hidden and avoided for a long time”, the director Alexis Sweet Cahill declared.
Based on the idea of Brigitte Drodtloff, alongside the co-writer Maria-Denise Theodoru, the screenplay was adapted for the big screen by Ioana Manea, together with the director Alexis Sweet Cahill. The film features Romanian, French and English actors: Roxana Lupu (Queen Marie), Daniel Plier (King Ferdinand),
Anghel Damian (Prince Carol the 2nd),
Adrian Titieni (Ion I.C. Brătianu), Emil Măndănac (Prince Știrbey), Ronald Chenery (Georges Clemenceau), Philippe Caroit (Count of Saint-Aulaire), Richard Elfyn (Lloyd George), Patrick Drury (Woodrow Wilson).
