
The new
cinema project combines approximatively 2,000 pictures of the total of 7,500 photos in the Costică Acsinte collection, as well as various materials from the National Film Archives and from the Romanian Radiobroadcasting Society Archives.
The editing of the documentary was signed by
Cătălin Cristuțiu, and the technical counselling was ensured by
Marius Panduru. The film was made with the support of Cezar Mario Popescu, who was the one to discover the photographs of Costică Acsinte.
Born on 4 July, 1897, in Perieți Village, Ialomița County, Costică Acsinte was one of the heroes of the WW1. Costică Acsinte he enrolled as war photographer volunteer, and he

developer not only his pictures, but also those taken by Romanian, French and even Russian pilots and aerial observers.
The experiences he lived over that period are shown in his personal photography album containing 84 pages and 327 pictures, most of them accompanied by a short typed description (the album also included drawings/sketches and paper cuts). Among those photographed, mention should be made of: King Ferdinand, Queen Maria, Prince Carol, General Berthelot or General Eremia Grigorescu.
Costică Acsinte left behind thousands of photographic negatives on glass plates, cut-films, and an unknown number of photographic prints – many of them in the possession of the families whose members had been photographed. Most of the prints are endorsed on the back side wit5h the studio's logo: “Foto Splendid Acsinte”.
According to producer
Ada Solomon, the documentary feature is to be wrapped up this fall.
Furthermore, director Radu Jude is in the post-production stage with the full-length feature
Inimi cicatrizate/Scarred Hearts, a free adaptation after Max Blecher.
