Film screenings at the “Week of European Diplomacy: Focus on Climate”

On the occasion of the “Week of European Diplomacy 2017: focus on climate”, the Embassies of France, Spain, Sweden and Germany are organising, together with the Romanian Cultural Institute (ICR) and with the European Commission Representation in Romania, a series of film screenings.
The first screening day is scheduled on Monday, 27 November, at 18.30, at the headquarters of the Romanian Cultural Institute, 38 Aleea Alexandru, with the feature Delta Dunării, paradisul aproape pierdut! / Danube Delta, an almost lost paradise! (directed by Ioana Dorobanțu, Dan Rațiu, 2013). The documentary will be introduced by journalist Liviu Mihaiu, Chairman of the „Save Danube and Delta” Association.
The event will be officially inaugurated on Tuesday, 28 November, at 20.00, at the French Institute with the film The Age of Consequences (directed by Jared P. Scott, 2016), with Graţiela Gavrilescu, Minister of the Environment, Michèle Ramis, Ambassador of France, and Cord Meier-Klodt, Ambassador of Germany attending.
The purpose of the “Week of European Diplomacy” is to raise awareness on the climate changes' impact, as well as on their sever consequences, and thus to facilitate debates on this particular issue in current society.
The films to be screened will identify potential fields of action.
The Romanian Cultural Institute acknowledges the support granted by the National Cinematography Center  (CNC) and by the National Film Archives for the screening of the two Romanian documentaries produced by Sahia Studios and included in the event.
