This year's Edition of Torino Film Lab includes two Romanian projects:
And They May Still Be Alive Today (directed by
Cristian Tudor Jurgiu, producer Bogdan Crăciun) and
Bad Trunk (screenplay by Cristina Bîlea).
And They May Still Be Alive will be produced by Libra Film and is represented in Torino by Tudor Jurgiu and Bogdan Crăciun. The film requires a budged amounting to € 527,500, of which € 217,500 are still needed, according to the date on the site of Torino Film Lab. The story follows a couple, Clara and Vlad, who are determined to live the perfect love. But she wants to find great love, while he just wants anybody.
Bad Trunk is the screenplay by Cristina Bîlea, who is presenting the project in Torino. A night like any other night for everybody turns out to be the most awful night for Nadia and Bobo. A stay-at-home young woman, Nadia poisoned her older husband and now is looking for a way to get rid of the body. Bobo, a thief who escaped from prison and who runs away from the police through a forest, sneaks into Nadia's car trunk, where he discovers he is not alone. It is hard to say who takes hostage who and what are the real stakes of this unusual encounter.
