Anghel Damian will attend this year`s edition of the International Film Festival in Odense, Denmark, which will take place from August 24 to

30.
The short films
Totul pentru Riana / Everything for Riana, 2020, regia Mihai Dragolea and
Celed, 2019, directed by Anghel Damian, were selected from a list of
2945 short films and together with other 129 films, they will compete for the awards offered by the festival. The winner will have the opportunity to enter the competition of the American Film Academy Awards. This year`s edition which will have more safety measures, will have events and screenings in cinema halls, but it will also have an online version – all the selected films can be watched in Denmark on the platform offered by the festival. The two Romanian directors will attend the Q&A sessions. The opening ceremony that will take place on August 24 will be attended by His Royal Highness Frederik, Crown Prince of Denmark.
The short film Everything for Riana, will be included in the Documentary category and it will be screened on August 24 and 27. The film tells the story of Amalia, a
young mother who struggles for the life of her new-born daughter Riana, in a hospital in Bucharest, while the father, Kalo, left to Italy in order to gain quick money for the
family.
The short film Minion / Celed will be included both in the Youth Competition and in the Official Competition. It will be screened from August 25 to 29. The film written and directed by Anghel Damian follows the story of a 7-year-old boy, a shepherd`s help, forced to grow up fast and to live his life in a sheepfold, in order to survive. Founded in 1975, the International Film Festival of Odense is the oldest and the best-known short film festival in Denmark and one of the most important festivals from the Scandinavian countries. Last year it counted 35000 viewers.
