The Kinofest Awards 2018

     The 12th edition of the Kinofest International Film Festival took place in four cities – Bucharest, Cluj and Oradea, from September 21 to 23, 2018.
     The best film in the fiction competition was chosen Getting Fat in a Healthy Way, directed by Kevork Aslanyan (22 minutes, Bulgaria-Germany). The jury that chose the winner was made of Alexandra Paun (screenwriter and independent producer), Daniel Sur (writer, Romanian Cultural Institute expert) and Flavia Dima (film critic).
     The Bolt Connection, made by Nicolas Lebas, Claire Cartier, Mathilde Dourdy, Thibault Grunenberger, Maurine Lecerf, Shih-Hui Pan won the animation competition award. The members of the jury were Alexandra Paun (screenwriter and independent producer), Radu Tinc (art-director and owner of the Meka Studio), Andrei Cotrut (illustrator, art director), Sorin Pintilii (animator), Emil Plesca (graphic designer).
     The viewers voted online for the best animation (the online competition) and the award went to Rise, directed by Jannerson Xavier (Brazil, 2018).
