
“I think it's cool that Jarmush is there,” Cristi Puiu said about the
Cannes Competition. “In the year I was with Lăzărescu at Cannes, Jarmusch was in the Competition. And I went to see him… me… just a Romanian guy. I gave him the DVD with my short. I was ashamed to tell him: You know… I got a prize, so… please… take me seriously.”
The short follows the relationship between a father and a very busy son. A short meeting between the two of them reveals two generations with different mentalities, but having, nonetheless, one common guiding principle in life: a carton of Kent and a packet of coffee offered as a bribe can make the difference when you try to get a job.
