Mascarada (directed by Cornel Gheorghiță, 2001) is a documentary about the fascinating world of ancient customs that still exist in Moldova.
In Moldova, at the end of the year, the spirits of the dead come out of the graves and walk through the village. The Moldovans meet during these pagan winter festivals in order to ward off the evil spirits.
