Cinepub premiere: “Marilena from P7”, directed by Cristian Nemescu

     Marilena de la P7/Marilena from P7 (directed by Cristian Nemescu) is the new online premiere of Cinepub Romanian film platform.

     The tough, colourful life of a Bucharest neighbourhood, prostitution, illegal deals, regular people leading their day to day life trying to protect their children from the “new world” tentations, Elvis Presley of Romania and a teenager irrevocably in love with Marilena – all these are part of the universe of the medium-length feature Marilena from P7, a humorous drama by late director Cristian Nemescu.
     Andrei, a 13-year old teenager living in a Bucharest neighbourhood, decides to steal a trolleybus in order to impress Marilena, a hooker he's fallen in love with.
     With a special cast (Gabriel Huian, Mădălina Ghiţescu, Gabriel Spahiu and Andi Vasluianu), screened at Cannes in 2006 (Semaine de la Critique), winner of the Grand Prize in Milano, and of the Best Romanian Film Award at TIFF (Transilvania International Film Festival), with a screenplay signed by Tudor Voican and Cristian Nemescu, Marilena from P7 may now be viewed on Cinepub.
