Cinepub Premiere – the Documentary “Olteanca”

     This week, the Cinepub.ro premiere is the documentary Olteanca, directed by João Pedro Borsani.  The film presents the village Olteanca which is 120 km away from Bucharest, near the Olt river.
Olteanca was screened in 2019, during the 14th edition of the Cronograf International Documentary Film Festival.
     Many things can be said about the life of the village, but one of the most painful things we can mention is the phenomenon of migration of the young people towards countries that offer more opportunities. Olteanca is one of the many villages that the young people left from, in order to settle in another country. In a series of interviews, the old people of Olteanca say how much they miss the ones who left. For them, the gardens, the animals and their daily routine represent the only way of living they need.
