On Wednesday, July 10, 2019, at 19:00, the Romanian Cultural Institute in London opens the photography exhibition “Desolation: Corpus Aliena” of the artist
Paul Arion, the only Romanian with three Oscars in his resume. Curated by the well-known photographer, Marco Delogu, the director of London`s Italian Cultural Institute and opened in the Brâncuși Gallery of the ICR London

headquarters until September 8, 2019, the collection of big photographs is a representation of solitude, found withing the nothingness of vast space without human life.
Paul Arion`s photographs are the result of his passion for capturing images of his personal conception over the world, caught with a perfect eye for composition, framing and light. The exhibition will be opened by Magda Stroe, the coordinator of the ICR London activity and it will be prefaced by a discussion between the artist and the project curator.
Paul Arion is a London-based artist and he is the only Romanian who won three Oscars together with his team, for special effects (for
Jungle Book, Blade Runner 2049 and

Prince of Persia,
Clash Of The Titans,

Shortly after, he took on a new role as Global Head of Layout for DNEG, overseeing five studios – two in Canada, one in Great Britain and two in India. Presently, Paul Arion continues to collaborate to the production of many successful films.
The event focuses on one of the most talented London-based Romanian artists, chosen the artist of July in the project “12 Months, 12 Creators”, launched by ICR London at the beginning of this year.
