Octav was selected in the official competition of the Beijing International Film Festival. It is the only Romanian film on the list with nominations for the Tiantan Awards this year.
The 8th edition of the event will take place from April 15 to 22, 2018, in China; the organizers made public the list of 15 films that entered the competition for the 10 awards of the festival. The Romanian feature film directed by

“We are extremely honored for this nomination. We are looking forward to the middle of April, in order to feel the feedback that our film will have from the Chinese audience” Adela Vrînceanu-Celebidachi, the film producer said.
The 15 films were selected out of 659 film submitted from 71 countries from 6 continents, with an increase of 55%, compared to the 424 projects submitted in 2017, as the vice president of the festival, Ren Qian mentioned. The president of the jury who will choose the winners of the 10 categories of the Tiantan Awards (including the Best Film Award or the Best visual effects) is the famous director Wong Kar-Wai.
