Novelties of the Magyar Cinema and Premieres in the TIFF Oradea Program

Two remarkable film debuts, one romantic comedy screened in premiere in Romania and one title that impressed the international juries, enrich the program of the second edition of the TIFF Oradea with a selection of surprising novelties. From September 6 to 8, the most appreciated films recently produced in Hungary come to the meeting with the audience together with the directors and the film protagonists. The selection of the films was made with the support of Zágoni Bálint, curator of the Magyar Days at TIFF and editor of the Filmtett publication.
The filmlovers from Oradea will have the chance to see in premiere Open, a film by Orsi Nagypal. It is the savorous story of a couple who decides to save their relationship by keeping the emotional connection, but seasoning it with a little bit of adventure. The romantic comedy will be screened in the State Philharmonics hall of Oradea, the most recent TIFF partner-space.
A daring and very actual approach, I Hope You Die Next Time : ) (Remélemlegközelebbsikerülmeghalnod : )), is a story both captivating and revolting. The protagonist is a 16 year old teenager who is crazy in love with her English teacher. Without thinking too much, she throws herself into a virtual love affair, which will give her many headaches. her love story will turn into the ugliest nightmare. The director Mihály Schwechtje, who is a special guest of TIFF Oradea, will tell more about the film.
Blossom Valley (Virágvölgy) is the lively debut of the director László Csuja and the Magyar film which was appreciated at Karlovy Vary in 2018, where it received the Special Award of the Jury and the East of the West Award. A strange adventure with road movie elements and fairytale images, the story follows Bianka, a nonconformist young woman, in her attempt to start a family, next to a kidnapped baby and a young man who is slightly lost.
Bad Poems (Rosszversek), the latest film of the director Gábor Reisz, impressed more than 50,000 viewers in Hungary and it was awarded in Torino, in 2018.  A touching ode to the masculinity in its frailty and delicacy, the film follows Tamás, a 33-year old man who is heartbroken after his girlfriend.
